Marine Park Primary School

PE and Sports Premium

At Marine Park Primary, we are committed to enhancing the physical education (PE) and sports experiences for our students through the effective utilisation of the PE and Sports Premium funding. This commitment ensures that we provide high-quality sports programs that promote health, teamwork, and personal development among primary-aged children. We believe in equipping our students with the skills and attitudes necessary to lead active and healthy lives, fostering a lifelong passion for physical activity.

The PE and Sport premium is used to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport offered. The premium is used to develop or add to the P.E provision in school and also make improvements now that will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.

PE and Sport Funding 2026–2027

The Department for Education (DfE) has announced changes to the way primary PE and sport will be funded from the 2026–2027 academic year. As a result, 2026–2027 will be a transition year as the current Primary PE and Sport Premium arrangements change and new national arrangements for supporting PE, school sport and physical activity are introduced.

We remain fully committed to providing high-quality PE, sport and physical activity for every child. During 2026–2027, we will continue to use the funding and opportunities available to us to improve the quality of PE, increase pupils’ participation in physical activity and competitive sport, develop staff expertise and promote healthy, active lifestyles.

We will update this page as further Department for Education guidance and details of the new funding arrangements are confirmed.
