Marine Park 3 - 9 Hedworthfield (Callum Allan 3: 1 penalty)

Thursday 30th April

Marine Park crashed to  a thumping home defeat in their final league game thanks to a great performance by the away team's star player Lee, who scored seven of their goals.

It all started well for Marine who took the lead inside 20 seconds but soon found themselves 1 - 3 down.  Callum Allan added a well struck volley to his earlier goal as Marine created numerous chances but kept on missing.  There was a double blow before half time when captain Evan Ray went off with a knee injury and the visitors added a fourth goal.

Any thoughts of a comeback disappeared as Hedworthfiel took control of the second half and not even Callum completing his hat trick from the penalty spot could turn the game around.

Marine Park 3 - 3 Lukes Lane (Nozom Uddin, Evan Ray, Jonny Smith)

Thursday 2nd April

A late equaliser denied Marine Park a deserved win that would have extended their lead at the top of the Coyne League.

Evan Ray was in fine form setting up a goal for Nozom Uddin then scoring himself.  When Jonny Smith made it 3 - 2 to Marine in the second half it seemed that would be enough for the win, however it wasn't to be against a spirited Lukes Lane team.

Marine Park 6 - 0 Hedworthfield (Jonny Smith 2, Nozom Uddin, Callum Allan, Evan Ray 2)

Thursday 26th March

A comfortable victory for Marine was never in doubt once Jonny Smith fired in a first minute goal.  The team had to wait a little longer for the second goal which was a first ever from Nozom Uddin.  Second half goals from Jonny Smith again, Callum Allan and two from Evan Ray completed a good performance.

Holy Trinity 3 - 3 Marine Park (Callum Allan, Jonny Smith, Evan Ray)

Wednesday 18th March

A truly entertaining game against Holy Trinity saw Marine go behind on three separate occasions but recover each time to claim a draw in a game that could have ended ten all!  Marine scored their first equaliser within thirty seconds of going behind as Callum Allan slotted home.  Then with half time approaching Holy Trinity added a second goal but this time it was Jonny Smith who scored from close range following good work from Nozom Uddin.  Substitute Karli Nicholson came close to scoring with her first touch but was denied by the keeper.  The game was swinging from end to end and Connor Ferguson was in good form yet again in the Marine goal.  With less than three minutes left it looked all over for Marine when Holy Trinity took the lead for a third time following some poor defending but again straight from kick off Evan Ray forced the ball home to make it three all. There was still time for Karli Nicholson to go close for a winner but a draw was a fair result for both teams.

St Bede's 0 - 2 Marine Park (Callum Allan, Jonny Smith)

Thursday 12th March

A fine team performance brought a deserved away victory at St Bede's with second half goals from Callum Allan and a screamer of a shot from Jonny Smith securing the points.

It had been a close game throughout with Marine shading the 1st half with the wind at their backs but during the second half keeper Connor Ferguson pulled off four great saves to keep out the home team.  Callum hit the bar, but gradually Marine took control and always looked a threat on the break.  Well done to Nozom who made his first start for the team.

St James' 2 - 1 Marine Park (Callum Allan)

Wednesday 4th March

Despite creating some good chances Marine left empty handed from St James' school after conceding a late winner.  Callum Allan had equalised in the second half with a terrific long range strike to cancel the home team's opening goal but couldn't find the killer goal to win the game.

Lukes Lane 4 - 5 Marine Park (Jonny Smith, Callum Allan 3, Evan Ray)

Wednesday 22nd October

Marine survived a second half comeback from Lukes Lane to run out deserving winners in a nine goal thriller.

Marine started very well scoring twice inside three minutes and a further two before half time. Jonny Smith, Evan Ray and two from Callum Allan put Marine four up.  Lukes Lane pulled one back before the break but Callum Allan completed his hat trick after half time to take Marine into a 5 - 1 lead.  Marine missed some very good chances to add to their score and very nearly paid for it as Lukes Lane clawed back the lead to just one goal, but Marine had done enough to go into the winter break with a victory.

Marine Park 5 - 2 St James' (Callum Allan 2, Evan Ray 2, Jonny Smith)

Thursday 9th October

A comfortable first win of the season in the end for Marine but only after a spirited comeback from our visitors was halted by two late goals.

Within 30 seconds Callum Allen put Marine ahead with a goal from a tight angle and he repeated this a few minutes later with a near identical left footed goal.  Evan Ray blasted home a third and it looked game over.  Missed chances from Marine led to a breakaway attack from St James' and worse was to follow when Jonny Smith accidently put past a stranded Connor Ferguson to make the half time score 3 - 2.

St James' started the better of the two teams in the second half and had chances to level.  Eventually, Jonny Smith converted a chance from close range and Evan Ray added a fifth through his own determination.

Fellgate 2 - 2 Marine Park   (Jonny Smith, Evan Ray)

Wednesday 8th October

An amazing comeback from Marine Park rescued a point against a strong Fellgate side who dominated the opening stages and raced into a two goal lead.  Only Connor Ferguson and Kevin Torrance prevented more goals being scored.  But then Evan Ray started to influence the game and rattled the crossbar from distance with a terrific shot.  Evan then managed to hit a post after half time as Marine got back into the game.  Finally, Callum Allen set up Jonny Smith to score from close range to make it 2 - 1 and set the game up for a great finish.  Better still when Evan Ray broke into the box and fired home a great shot to level the scores.  Back came Fellgate, who hit a post and created countless chances, but Connor was equal to all that came his way.  Seconds before the full time whistle Jonny could have won the game but his shot went agonisingly wide of the post.  Great game and performance!

Marine Park 1 - 2 St Bede's (Callum Allan)

Wednesday 1st October

For the second game running Marine were edged out a tight game despite a strong performance.  Two early St Bede's goals put Marine on the back foot but they fought back well and Callum Allan's smart finish from a Jonny Smith cross gave the team a big lift.  Good chances went begging from Marine while Bede's always looked dangerous on the break.

Despite super performances from Evan Ray and keeper Connor Ferguson, Marine were unable to force a deserved draw.

Marine Park  2 - 3  Holy Trinity  (Evan Ray 2)

Wednesday 17th September

The new season began with a five goal thriller against new school Holy Trinity.  Unfortunately Marine were edged out despite holding a 2 - 1 half time lead.

Skipper Evan Ray calmly slotted home twice in near identical style following superb diagonal passes from Callum Allen.  In between that Trinity equalised following a defensive mix up.

A second Trinity equaliser followed straight after half time from a well flighted corner and worse was to follow when poor defending cost the crucial third goal.  Marine tired after that and were grateful to the heroics of Connor Ferguson in goal for making a string of fine saves.  A final chance came to Jonathon Smith but Marine had to accept an opening day defeat.
